Get in touch

Everything that arrives gets read. There is one thing we cannot help with, and it belongs at the top of the page rather than the bottom.

We cannot give medical advice

Larkfield Health Library is a publisher, not a healthcare provider. We cannot diagnose you, read your test results, advise on your medicines, comment on your case or point you at a particular clinician. Messages asking for any of that get a short reply directing you back to our medical disclaimer.

For a medical question, ask your own doctor or pharmacist. If the situation is urgent — you cannot pass urine, you have fever with shivering and pelvic pain, or you have severe pain with vomiting or confusion — contact your local emergency number or go to an emergency department now.

One mailbox, four kinds of post

Everything arrives at [email protected]. We would rather run one address we actually read than four that quietly fill up, so put the subject in the subject line and your message lands in the right pile.

Correction

Factual errors, statements that have gone stale, sources you think we have misread, dead links, and suggestions for what to cover next.

Privacy

Access, correction and deletion requests, cookie questions, and anything else covered by the privacy policy.

Accessibility

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible to use with your assistive technology, describe what you were trying to do and we will fix it.

Permissions

Press enquiries, and requests to quote or reproduce our content at any length. See also the terms of use.

Email is the only route in. The library is run online, with no public office to write to and no telephone line to call.

How to report a correction well

Corrections are the messages we value most, and four details let us act on one the same day:

  1. The address of the page.
  2. The exact sentence or section concerned.
  3. What is wrong with it, in a line or two.
  4. A source that supports the correction, if you have one. A guideline, a review or an institutional page is ideal.

We aim to reply to editorial email within five working days. Substantive corrections are applied to the page and reflected in its update date, as described in how we work.

What we will not take

  • Guest posts, sponsored articles and paid links. Not at any price, so please do not send a rate card.
  • Product placement and affiliate proposals for medicines, supplements, devices, tests or clinical services.
  • Requests to remove accurate, sourced content on the grounds that it is commercially inconvenient for somebody.

None of that is a negotiating position. The site carries no advertising and sells no space, so there is nothing here to buy even if we were willing to sell it — see our standards.

A word about email and privacy

Email travels over an insecure channel, and this is not an operation equipped to receive health information. Please keep symptoms, diagnoses, test results, images and medical records out of your message. Anything of that sort that does arrive will not be acted on clinically, and gets deleted once the exchange is over. How correspondence is handled is covered in the privacy policy.

Response times

Editorial: within five working days.
Privacy requests: within the period applicable law requires.
We are a small team, and email is the only channel we operate.

If you are struggling

Living with persistent pain is genuinely hard. Speak to your clinician, or find a local crisis line through Find A Helpline. In the United States and Canada you can call or text 988; in the United Kingdom, call 111 or the Samaritans on 116 123.
